Assigned Risk: New Risk & Expiration Lists

Bureau assigned risk records “shall be open to any bureau member or its authorized representative.”

New Risk List

For employers in the assigned risk plan, the statute under Indiana Code 27-7-2-35 requires the bureau to “keep a record of all risks referred to members as carrying company, coming within the provisions of section 29 [IC 27-7-2-29] of this chapter, and this record shall be open to any bureau member or its authorized representative.” In compliance with this rule, the ICRB makes available to it’s member companies specific data elements as outlined below.

The New Risk List is published on the ICRB website monthly for registered member companies and agents to access at no charge.

Expiration Lists

The Expiration List provides Assigned Risk policyholder information on policies that will expire within the next calendar year. The ICRB is statutorily required to provide this data as we encourage agents and carriers to depopulate the Assigned Risk market and write the business within the voluntary market. This expiration list provides a mechanism for searching potential business and is located on NCCI’s website. The Expiration List provides the following information:

  • policyholder’s name and address
  • policy expiration date
  • risk ID
  • latest experience modification
  • governing class code
  • multi-state indicator
  • total state premium
